Hoedspruit (loosely translated means Hat Creek) is a small town in the Central Lowveld of the Limpopo province in South Africa. Hoedspruit is renowned for its friendly people and focus on sustainable ecotourism.

Hoedspruit developed from a small agricultural settlement into modern day Hoedspruit, a world renowned ecotourism gateway after, as the story goes, a town pioneer took off his hat and threw it into the nearby Sandspruit River, deciding to stay, and the rest is as they say, History.

Hoedspruit also host a South African Air Force Base, located in the Hoedspruit area, and is also a significant contributor to the local economy, adding an interesting flavour to the already cultural rich diversity of the Hoedspruit community.
